Lamb! We have a couple of our home reared Jacob lamb boxes still available to order for collection next weekend (31st October).
You can order a whole or a half lamb box priced at £12.00 per kilo based on the unboned dead weight. As a rough guide an average lamb will be approximately 18 to 20kg so a half lamb would cost approximately £108 and £120.00. There will be a few below and a few above average weight so if you particularly want a large or small lamb please do let us know when ordering.
Everything is in user friendly pack sizes, vac packed and labelled ready for use or to go straight into your freezer.

We've had a few days away on holiday but the farming didn't stop as this is the time of year the rams get to work and they have both been very busy!
All the ewes have been covered – including Bess! 😮
Bess is looking very smug because she was meant to retire this year because in March she had triplets – AND NO MILK!!!!!!
She was in a field well away from the rams, with the other retirees and this years lambs – but she decided she didn't want to play aunty – she wants babies!!!
So – she broke out of her field (through the electric fence) walked through the woods and jumped through another electric fence to be with her chosen beau (Moretti)🐑🐏
Looks like we may have more bottle babes next year 🍼😭🤦♀️

PORK!!!
We have a couple of pork boxes still available to buy for collection this weekend 25th/26th September.
This is pork from our rare breed, free-range Oxford, Sandy and Black crossed with Saddleback pigs.
We're offering a choice of either:
1. Quarter pig box, which includes a variety of cuts: family-sized leg and shoulder roasting joints, pork chops, pork leg steaks, pork belly, diced pork, and our delicious pork sausages and chipolatas. Each box weighs approximately12–14 kg and is priced at £120.00.
Or, if you’d prefer something smaller,
2. Our popular taster pack is also available. this contains a selection of cuts and sausages/chipolatas, weighing between 5–6 kg, priced at £65.00.
Following the popularity of our traditionally dry-cured gammon joints last year, we’re pleased to offer them again. The curing process takes about six weeks, so they’ll be ready by late October. Each joint weighs approximately 2 kg, priced at £12.50 per kg. These can be enjoyed fresh or could be frozen for Christmas.

21 and her calf (33) are off on holiday!!! 🧳🐂🐂
As our August attempt at AI (artificial insemination) sadly failed 😢 and as dealing with the AI man and sychronisation schedules with the vet is so complicated and expensive, we’ve decided to go back to basics.
21 is headed to Sissinghurst for a good old-fashioned romantic break with a handsome local bull! 🌹🐂 Her calf 33 is going too as she’s still a bit too young to be left on her own.
Since local Devon bulls are in short supply, we’ve hired a Sussex for the job. He’s essentially a slightly bigger, local version of a Red Devon—a proper tall, dark, and handsome type. 🐂✨
She’ll be living her best life for the next 4 weeks. Wish us luck—hopefully, next year we’ll be welcoming the next generation! 🤞😍🐂

We had a lovely weekend at the Edenbridge & Oxted Agricultural Show. It's such a friendly show.🖤🤍🖤🤍
No red rosettes for us this year but the ram lambs did very well with 2nd & 4th in big classes and then came 2nd in the pairs!🥈🏅.
The sheep (especially our old ram, Cartier) all seemed to love the attention from the show visitors and they definitely appreciated all the digestive biscuits they got for treats 🙂
